Short links: Personal brands
A lot of discussion about personal brands the last couple of weeks, so here we go with some snippets from that discussion.
Julia Allison on the cover of Wired
So the personal brand that is Julia Allison managed to score the cover of Wired. Many people define her for being famous for nothing, which is pretty much BS. She probably has done more publicity stunts over the last year than most celebrities do in a lifetime, at the same time she’s quite for famous for being hated. But listen to her in this podcast, she’s got a lot of good things to say.
The media outlet of Kanye
NY Times has an article about how Kanye is taking over the microphone from the mainstream media. Interesting to note how he bypass all the rumours that otherwise are created through being transparent on his blog. At the same time his blog is as personal as a McDonalds but even if the content is far from personal 95% of the posts it’s apparently good enough to have established the blog as part of a communication platform which he can use when he needs to.
Thomas Hawk bashing away
Last and certainly most angry is Thomas Hawk for completely bashing an employee at the SF MOMA. Jeremiah has a post on the subject and recognized that the employee’s SERP is ruined for years to come.
