Being in the Napoleon dynamite business

There’s so much to like about the idea and concept behind Blowtorch. And for once I don’t agree with Umair that they don’t need a lot money and would be able to produce and mange it with a very lightweight structure. Finding the sweetspot between the big Hollywood studios & networks and the youtubes and vimeos of the world is exactly what makes it a great idea.
Thinking not along the lines of medium, as cable, theatres or internet, instead embracing the media and each single mediums possibilities indicates that Blowtorch might have a chance of success.
The largest problem is of course executing on the idea, saying you want to be in the Napoleon dynamite business is kind of like saying we’re in the Apple business. Great quality is not easy to produce, especially not on a regular basis. As many movie studios and tv networks have found out during the last 50 years.

I’m not sure anything indicates that Blowtorch have the Miramax quality potential but the first movie seems to have made the cut and as a business idea it’s kind of great.
