Yahoo strategy change by Jonas

As the famous 100 days for Yahoo comes to an end we yet to see any kind of mission statement from the HQ.

Yesterday Reuters published a hint of what the future strategy of Yahoo will be. Opening up the Yahoo properties is probably the only way to be able to compete in the market. But then the question raised is of course which market? I’m of the opinion that Yahoo should give up trying to compete with Google on search.

It seems that they will continue their current efforts of being the natural starting point, which might be an option, if they could follow through with opening up their properties while still being able to integrate them in a much more sophisticated way than today.

I’m very much doubting that Jerry Yang has the management qualities necessary to make the required changes and implement a new strategy.

My Yahoo stocks have performed quite well the last month, probably more because of unreasonable low expectations than a good performance. But to keep that curve Yahoo need someone able to implement a new strategy and leverage integration solutions between their properties.
