Government 2.0 by Jonas

An article in SVD (Swedish only) today highlight the problem regarding the amount of patients dying and suffering injuries from mistreatments is increasing. Apparently it kills as many people as traffic accidents ever year.

The solution presented in the article is that doctors have to get better on spreading the knowledge and learning from mistakes. So if a doctor at any time makes a mistake it should be documented so that other can learn from that mistake.

I’m as big fan of food wikis and social networks for dogs as the next guy, but the health care sector is a place where social media would be a perfect solution. In an earlier post we referred to it as Government 2.0.

Every doctor and nurse should have access to a centralized intranet consisting of topic specific wikis and open blogs regarding certain treatments and other tools that could help interaction and learning. It would definitely be a knowledge engine for the whole Swedish health care system.

Which I hope will schools can learn from and see how the web can increase education quality. […]
