Amazon’s web services just gets more and more interesting for every new service release. There latest addition, Fulfillment by Amazon, targets small and medium sized e-commerce retailers. When the business is just getting too big for using the basement as a warehouse. What you do is ship your inventory to Amazon, after that Amazon is handling the whole process of getting the products to your customers. Even after-sale processes such as returns is managed by Amazon.

Supporting the long tail

Amazon is once again doing an amazing work of being the tool for the long tail business. Small business owners that just wants to have less of hassle with managing an inventory and shipping details, can totally focus on the product and the store front. There are other issues such as business dependencies and customization that may conflict with the service, but its still an interesting move.
