Revenue sharing at sovrat.se by Jonas

Through Beta alfa I noticed that the digg-like (note the absence of the word “clone”) site sovrat.se launched a new feature yesterday that makes it possible for users to earn money through adsense on the links they post to Sovrat. What to say? I’m torn. I would love if you could make money out of air, but…

Once again it is a good initiative by a small site to make something different and unique. The concept of revenue sharing is of course not unique by any means, but in Sweden, it’s a rarely used method for generating content. There are obvious reasons why and it’s pretty useless at the moment.

For anyone to break into the revenue bracket of 25 - 50 kr/year it would demand a user base slightly larger than making it to the first page with 3 friends. Though, I like the initiative and it should be noted that it’s not built with pligg (that alone deserves some applause). Sovrat.se evidently has ambitions and ideas to keep on developing an increasingly interesting site.

    ok, but if they want to pay, then the netscape approach would be good, because you could pay 5 users (the right ones obviously or 1 beta-alfa) to “digg” stories and I’m pretty sure you could jump to the top of Sweden’s digg market relatively quickly.

    Is it not much to ask to require AdSense-accounts, and code-snippets, from all “sovrats”? I have my doubts regarding this one.

    I’ve also noticed that. And there are other certain webb 2.0-sites like hajpa.se and others that seem to be like digg clones.
