BuzzFeed me like by Jonas

The ongoing discussion about social media news and how it should be presented seems to be a constant source of conflict within the blogosphere. I just found a site that I really liked, regarding how it was structured and how it presented the current “buzz” on the net. The site is called BuzzFeed. Its probably more a competitor to Techmeme and Tailrank rather than to Digg, Reddit or Netscape. The reason I like it is probably more a design issue than a technology issue. Its freakin’ beautifully designed, very easily navigated and I just like being there.

It pretty much works as its competitors although its even more controlled by its editors compared to, for example, Techmeme. But this is what I like. I know, I’m swearing in the 2.0 bubble right now, but I like how they present me with interesting links and what the editors find most interesting on that topic. Especially since its such an accomplished group of editors, I’m quite convinced about the quality of the links I find on BuzzFeed. I don’t have to vote on anything and since there only is about 5 or 6 topics each day with 6-10 links in each BuzzFeed is easily skimmed and you’re not overwhelmed by the amount of content presented to you.

Concerning the latest discussion about simplicity, BuzzFeed is a site that executes on simplicity in a great way regarding both features and design.
