Internetworld’s RSS, “old school” is not cool.
As the only magazine in Sweden, which focuses solely on the internet, Internetworld’s level of influence and their reviews of sites and suppliers within the industry rarely goes unnoticed. This is also the reason why you can demand so much more from their website, which is basically just press releases, or in some cases a VERY brief editorial note on a press release, covered up in a blog package.
The target of this rant is their RSS feed, which I kind of… frankly, dislike. The reason why I (and I would tend to believe many others as well) subscribe to feeds is because its an easy and fast way to get a lot of news and updated information in one, single interface. However, it seems that Internetworld doesn’t believe in this technology, or they don’t use it? Since they have chosen to only include the title of the article in their feeds. Why? Presumably, the assumption would of course be that they’re greedy, i.e. not want to lose any ad revenue by having people not visit the actual site.
This is how an old media, print, company is handling the changes in the industry, when they should be driving progress. The strategy, instead of thinking creatively and finding new solutions (one obvious way to go would be to include ads in their feeds) they resort to people not reading their news at all than having them visit their site.
Its just not good enough.

It is IDG… Surprising? No. Just check out their webpage. In 1024×768 you can read like two-three headlines without scrolling. If you find them - I would guess 75% is ads.
