MyBlogLogEgo
Interestingly, MyBlogLog seems to be one of the most interesting launches of 2006. When it first came out, I personally wasn’t a big believer and saw it as just another example of the never ending flood of social networkingish apps. However, it did bring something new to the table and that is, as Fred points out, a bridge. Something that connects different social platforms with each other and integrating different services into one. At least for MySpace users and bloggers…which is a rather large group.
It will also be relatively easy for them to develop it to also include other social networks (seems like a Facebook integration is in the making). The foremost important aspect of MyBlogLog is of course to be able to build a community around your single blog and making it part of a social network, that can be either MySpace users, bloggers or (soon to be) third party communities. So as Lotta makes clear, the web 2.0 movement might ought to be renamed, ego 2.0. She points out Twitter as an example of this, but MyBlogLog could easily be included in ego 2.0, since it does so very well with its community features in appealing to the big ego of bloggers. Ourselves included.
