37signals+Amazon+Rails = hosting?
In a post on the swedish blog hej världen referring back to this article explaining the high possibilities that 37signals and Amazons new S3 service might actually be on their way to build the ultimate hosting solution for Ruby on Rails. Its not the biggest news in the world, taking Bezos relatively recent investment in 37signals plus as founders of the RoR framework they have a decent amount of respect and power in that community. It’s at least a decent guess that something like this very well might be happening.
Another factor that might play in favor for this is that Marcel Molina said that he’s writing an API for Amazon S3. So Textdrive might be facing some dramatic competition in the coming weeks/months and this might really present a competitive alternative to the recent introduction of Media Temple’s GridServer.
Funky business guess at least…
