pointless rant for today
If you had read our post on top 5 European 2.0 sites, one site that you did not see on there was who-r-you. The German-based social email site that allows users to upload images of themselves, so that if another user types in an email address, an image of that person could pop-up. hmmm. If you follow techcrunch, you would have the seen the site had received some “mixed” reviews, and in the comments, there was a barrage of complaints regarding the name of the site, which Michael Arrington responded by saying that it was “unfortunate”. But what was unfortunate was that nothing was said in the initial review about the name. Who-r-you, would be suspect if spelled out in such a manner, however whoryou, looks a little more…vulgar. 40-something comments later, and the point was addressed rather thoroughly.
